Flames To Terminate Forward's Contract
Calgary Flames prospect Dmitri Zavgorodniy has been placed on unconditional waivers. With this, he is set to have his contract terminated by the team.
The Flames selected Zavgorodniy with the 198th pick of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. Since then, he has appeared in 41 games over two seasons with the Stockton Heat, where he had a goal and four assists. Yet, this is where his time with the organization comes to a close.
Zavgorodniy was loaned to the KHL in each of the last two years, so perhaps this was something that could have been predicted. Don't be surprised to see the 21-year-old head back home to Russia on a new deal from here.
