Golden Knights Captain To Have Surgery
The 2021-22 season was a rough one for Mark Stone, as he dealt with numerous injuries throughout it. Now, the Vegas Golden Knights captain is set to have back surgery but is expected to be ready to go by training camp.
Stone was limited to just 37 games this season. During them, he scored nine goals and added 21 assists. Yet, he cooled off noticeably after returning to action in April, as he had just one goal and one assist in his final nine games of the year. It was clear that he wasn't 100% healthy, so this development isn't too surprising.
After missing the playoffs for the first time in franchise history, the Golden Knights will be looking to bounce back mightily in 2022-23. For that to occur, they need Stone to be healthy, so this surgery seems like the best course of action.
