Hurricanes Receive Huge Boost Ahead of Game 4 vs. Bruins
The Carolina Hurricanes are welcoming back netminder Antti Raanta with open arms. The 'Canes backup will once again suit up in the their first-round series against the Boston Bruins as the two teams play Game 4 on Sunday afternoon.
Huge news for the Hurricanes as starting goalie and Vezina candidate Frederik Andersen is out with a lower-body injury and his status for the Stanley Cup Playoffs remains uncertain at this point. As for Raanta, he exited the series early in Game 2 after a collision with Bruins forward David Pastrnak. Carolina has since turned to Pyotr Kochetkov who finished off Game 2 in winning fashion but did let in four goals in the team's 4-2 loss in Game 3 allowing the Bruins back into the series.
As for Raanta, head coach Rod Brind'Amour confirmed the goaltender did not go through concussion protocol after Game 2 and simply wasn't feeling well after the game and need a couple of extra days off.
