Jets Sign Prospect
The Winnipeg Jets have signed Tyrel Bauer to a three-year, entry-level contract.
The Jets selected Bauer with the 164th overall pick of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. The 20-year-old defenseman just completed his fifth season with the Seattle Thunderbirds. In his second year as their captain, he scored five goals and added five assists in 32 games.
Bauer is noted as being more of a defensive defenseman. He also has developed a reputation for being a physical player, which could lead to the 6-foot-3 d-man having a home in the NHL later down the road. Alas, we will have to wait and see how he develops from here.
