Kings Danault With Interesting Comments After Game 3 Loss to Oilers

The Edmonton Oilers put on a show on Friday night as they destroyed the Los Angeles Kings 8-2. The Game 3 victory was an impressive road win for the Oilers as the team has now won two straight games against the Kings. While everyone certainly took the loss differently, Kings center Phillip Danault had some interesting comments about how it felt after the game.

Danault met with the media and had this to say post game:

That's a big slap in the face tonight. We've got to have more confidence. We're a good team. We're not in the playoffs for no reason. We also have to learn. We have to play better under pressure with (making passes) tape to tape, execution's got to be better. But every area's got to be better. Defensively as well. Neutral zone, (offensive) zone, so everywhere.

The Oilers were led by Evander Kane's first career Stanley Cup Playoff hat trick and a huge performance from goaltender Mike Smith. The Kings outshot the Oilers 46-37, including 19-7 in the first period but Smith stood tall.

Game 4 goes Sunday night as the Oilers look to keep slapping the Kings.
