Leon Draisaitl Sets Playoff Record
The Edmonton Oilers will forever be known as the winners of the 2022 Battle of Alberta, and Leon Draisaitl is a major reason behind it. During the five-game series, the superstar forward recorded a whopping 15 assists. With this, he passed Rick Middleton (1983) and Wayne Gretzky (1985) to set an NHL record for most assists in a single playoff series.
During each contest, Draisaitl recorded at least two assists. However, he truly took off during the final three games, as he recorded 11 helpers. He also scored two goals in the series, so in total, he had 17 points. That is extremely impressive production when noting that it was only over a five-game span and he's been dealing with a lingering injury.
Nevertheless, congrats to Draisaitl on this amazing achievement. Let's see if it carries over to the Western Conference Final.
