Lightning Sign Forward Prospect
The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed Jaydon Dureau to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Dureau was selected by the Lightning with the 147th overall of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. He just completed the best season of his WHL career with the Portland Winterhawks, so that likely helped his case of landing this ELC. In 49 games, he scored 24 goals and added 42 assists. Now, he will be aiming to carry over that kind of offensive skill to professional hockey.
Dureau already has AHL experience on his resume. Over the last two seasons, he has played in five games with the Syracuse Crunch, where he has a goal and an assist. It will be intriguing to see how the 21-year-old performs during a full season with the Crunch next year. Alas, time will tell on that front.
