NHL Rumors: Bruins To Begin Extension Talks With Star Winger
While speaking with reporters, Boston Bruins general manager Don Sweeney said that they plan to begin extension talks with David Pastrnak as soon as the NHL offseason officially begins.
Pastrnak is about to enter the final year of his contract, so the team can begin to discuss a potential extension this summer. With Pastrnak being the team's best scorer, it makes sense that Sweeney is making it a major priority.
We recently reported that the Bruins are expected to offer Pastrnak an eight-year extension. With this most recent development, we now have a better idea of when Sweeney and company will be holding these discussions.
In 72 games this season, Pastrnak scored 40 goals and recorded 77 points.
