NHL Rumors: Bruins To Offer Star Huge Contract
According to Fluto Shinzawa, the Boston Bruins are expected to offer David Pastrnak an eight-year contract extension this offseason.
The 2022-23 season is the final year of Pastrnak's contract, so the Bruins can begin extension talks this summer. GM Don Sweeney showed this deadline season that he isn't afraid of signing players to max-term contracts, as he gave Hampus Lindholm an eight-year deal immediately after acquiring the defenseman. With Pasta being the Bruins' top sniper and still only 25 years old, a long-term extension would be wise.
Pastrnak put together another strong campaign this year. In 72 games, he scored 40 goals and added 37 assists. During the playoffs, he also recorded six points in seven games. After a year like this one, it is understandable that the Bruins are looking to lock him up for as long and as soon as possible. Let's see if they do just that.
