NHL Rumors: Bruins To Shop Defenseman
According to Jimmy Murphy of Boston Hockey Now, the Boston Bruins placed Connor Clifton on the trading block multiple times during the 2021-22 season and it wouldn't be surprising to see him shopped again this summer.
The Bruins could use an upgrade on the right side of their bottom pair, so it makes sense that they have considered moving Clifton. On a legitimate contender, the 27-year-old is better suited to be the seventh defenseman.
In 60 games this season, Clifton scored two goals and recorded a career-high 10 points. With the Bruins in need of some cap space, it also could make sense to move his $1 million cap hit. Alas, we will have to wait and see if Clifton is moved at some point during this offseason.
