NHL Rumors: Canadiens To Target Veteran Defenseman
According to Marco D'Amico, the Montreal Canadiens are expected to target Justin Braun if the defenseman hits the free-agency market.
With the Canadiens currently beginning their rebuild, it does make sense for them to have some interest in Braun. A young club needs to have veterans to help mentor them, and Braun can do just that. The 35-year-old has 12 years of NHL experience and has played just under 800 career games during that time. With that, he is known for his steady defense-first style of play.
In 69 games this season between the Philadelphia Flyers and New York Rangers, Braun had six goals and 12 assists. With that, he also has one assist in eight playoff games with the Rangers.
