NHL Rumors: Ducks To Shop Defenseman
The Anaheim Ducks traded players like Hampus Lindholm, Rickard Rakell, and Josh Manson at the deadline. Thus, it became clear that GM Pat Verbeek is still rebuilding the club and will likely be open to moving more veterans this summer. One player who we could see dealt this summer because of this is Kevin Shattenkirk.
Shattenkirk is entering the final year of his contract and put together a solid 2021-22 season. After recording just 15 points in 55 games during his first season as a Duck, he bounced back this year. In 82 games, he scored eight goals and had 35 points. Thus, he increased his trade value in the process, so the Ducks could look to take advantage of this.
Teams in need of some help on the power play and right side of their defense should be calling the Ducks this summer about Shattenkirk. Let's see if the veteran has a new home next season.
