NHL Rumors: Golden Knights To Trade Defenseman

According to Jesse Granger, the Vegas Golden Knights could trade Alec Martinez this offseason to free up cap space.

The Golden Knights have big decisions to make when it comes to their roster this summer. Besides being over the cap, they also missed the playoffs for the first time in their history. Martinez only played in 26 games on the year, where he had three goals and five assists.

Martinez carries a $5.25 million cap hit for the next two seasons, so Vegas does have a big decision to make when it comes to him. Teams who could express interest in the 34-year-old include the Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings, and Ottawa Senators.
