NHL Rumors: Jets Star Contemplating Future In Winnipeg
While speaking to reporters, Winnipeg Jets forward Mark Scheifele noted that he is going to have a "tough" conversation with GM Kevin Chevedayoff. With that, he said that he needs to know what direction the team is heading in and what moves they plan to make during the offseason.

Jets head coach Dave Lowry also told reporters that Scheifele has an important decision to make. With Winnipeg missing the playoffs, it is understandable that Scheifele is mulling his future with the organization. As he noted, he is in the prime of his career, so he obviously wants to play for a winning club.

A couple of bombs dropped today.
This development doesn't automatically mean that Scheifele will be requesting a trade out of Winnipeg. Yet, it does show that the Jets have to either find a way to prove to the star center that they are pushing to be contenders or that very well could occur. Alas, this is a major story and something all hockey fans should keep an eye on this summer.
