NHL Rumors: Kraken Expected To Sign Star Defenseman

According to Jeff Marek and Eric Engels, there is a strong belief that John Klingberg will be signing a deal with the Seattle Kraken this summer.

It's been well-documented that extension talks between Klingberg and the Dallas Stars soured immensely during the season. It even led to rumors surrounding the veteran d-man before the trade deadline. Yet, with the Stars pushing for and then securing a playoff spot, they opted to keep him around for the rest of the year. However, it's clear that his final days in Dallas are here.

The Kraken would be an ideal location for both parties. Seattle of course has the cap space to give Klingberg the kind of contract he is looking for. With that, they definitely need to produce more offense from the point, and he would give them just that.

Once the summer is here, it will be intriguing to see if Engels and Marek are correct about Klingberg joining the Kraken.
