NHL Rumors: Maple Leafs To Shop 3 Players
According to The Toronto Sun's Terry Koshan, the Toronto Maple Leafs could end up shopping Alex Kerfoot, Justin Holl, and Petr Mrazek this offseason.
Kerfoot's name came up in the rumor mill at times this season, but the team opted to keep him around. He put together his best NHL season this year, too, as he had 13 goals and a career-high 51 points in 82 contests. Yet, after another first-round loss and Kerfoot entering the final year of his deal, a move does seem possible.
It seemed Holl's time with the Maple Leafs was also coming to a close this season, but he ended up staying put past the trade deadline. He certainly received a lot of criticism this season from both fans and the media, but he also set career-highs in assists (20) and points (23). Thus, there could be plenty of teams interested in giving the 6-foot-4 d-man a chance.
If the Leafs can find a taker for Mrazek and his $3.2 million cap hit until 2024, they will certainly do it. It was a rough year for the 30-year-old in all aspects. He was limited to just 20 games, where he had a 12-6-0 record, 3.34 GAA, and .888 SV%. He also was placed on waivers.
