NHL Rumors: Panthers Forward Wants To Stay Put

While speaking with David Dwork, Claude Giroux noted that he is open to returning to the Florida Panthers for the 2022-23 season.

Giroux was the Panthers' huge addition before the trade deadline passed this year. Overall, it's fair to say that he did well from an individual standpoint, as he recorded 23 points in 18 regular-season games after joining the team. The 34-year-old picked them as his destination in hopes that it would lead to his first Stanley Cup, but of course, he and the Panthers were swept in the second round during the Battle of Florida.

Financially, the Panthers would have to pull a lot of strings to bring back Giroux or he would have to sign a team-friendly deal. Alas, time will tell if they can come to terms on a new contract.
