NHL Trade Rumors: Blackhawks To Trade Defenseman
With the Chicago Blackhawks rebuilding, they are expected to make several moves this offseason. One player who is a prime trading candidate because of this is Connor Murphy.
Charlie Roumeliotis recently reported that the Blackhawks are looking to get back into the first round of this year's entry draft, and Murphy has the potential to get them one. Although he isn't noted for his offensive numbers, he is highly praised for his defense-first style of play. With that, he is a very physical player, as his 130 hits this season show perfectly.
Although Murphy signed a four-year, $17.6 million contract extension, Stan Bowman was the GM in charge at that point. Thus, current GM Kyle Davidson could be willing to move him for the right price. Let's see what happens from here with the 29-year-old defenseman.
