Rangers Sign Forward Prospect
The New York Rangers have signed Adam Edstrom to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Edstrom was selected by the Rangers with the 161st-overall pick of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. The 21-year-old winger has spent each of the last three seasons with Rogle BK Angelholm of the Swedish Hockey League. During this past season, he scored a career-high seven goals and added two assists in 43 contests.
Although Edstrom isn't necessarily known for his offensive ability, he may have an NHL home later down the road due to his physical style of play. The 6-foot-4 forward will likely need to spend some time in the AHL before getting an eventual call-up, but he certainly is a prospect worth watching from here.
