Rangers Sign Goalie Prospect
The New York Rangers have signed Olof Lindbom to a two-year, entry-level contract.
Lindbom was selected by the Rangers with the 39th-overall pick of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. The 21-year-old is viewed as having a good amount of potential, but he also needs time to develop into an NHL-caliber goaltender. He spent this season in the Allsvenskan league with Kristianstads IK, where he sported a .900 SV% in 27 appearances.
With the Rangers having Igor Shesterkin as their long-term starter, it would be nice for Lindbom to develop into a solid backup goalie for them later down the road. Time will tell how he develops from here.
