Red Wings Sign Forward To Extension
The Detroit Red Wings have signed Taro Hirose to a two-year contract extension.
Hirose has made appearances for the Red Wings over each of the last four seasons. In 15 contests this season with Detroit, he scored a goal and added three helpers. With their AHL affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins, he scored 15 goals and recorded 53 points. Thus, he made a big impact at the AHL level, so it makes sense that they are keeping him around the organization.
Hirose should continue to be a solid call-up option for the Red Wings during these next two seasons. In 57 career games with the Red Wings, he has four goals, 16 assists, and 12 penalty minutes.
