Senators Make Front Office Change
The Ottawa Senators have fired Pierre McGuire from his vice president of player development role after just one season.
After years of broadcasting, McGuire made the switch to a front office job during the 2021-22 season. Before taking over this role with the Senators, he worked as an assistant coach with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1991 before becoming head coach of the Hartford Whalers until 1994.
The Senators' failure to take that next step as a team is likely why they opted to part ways with McGuire so quickly. Now, the 60-year-old will be looking to find a job elsewhere in the NHL - whether that's in another front office or back as a broadcaster.
Tell me, hockey fans, would you love to have Pierre back on television? We know how much you folks love him.
