Sharks Sign Forward To Extension

The San Jose Sharks have signed Alexander Barabanov to a two-year contract. He will have an average annual value of $2.5 million starting next season

Barabanov found a place for himself on San Jose's roster and has earned himself this solid extension because of it. In 70 games on the year, he scored 10 goals and added 29 assists. Now, the 5-foot-10 winger will have the opportunity to stick around with the Sharks for two more years at least.

If Barabanov can continue to produce at this pace during this contract, this has all the makings of being an excellent deal. However, even if he comes back down to Earth from here, he still has an affordable cap hit, and it is a short-term contract.
