Video: Oilers Mike Smith Gave Away Game 1 With This Blunder
The look on Connor McDavid's face after the game said it all as the Edmonton Oilers handed the Los Angeles Kings the Game 1 victory. The fingers are being pointed at Oilers netminder Mike Smith after his puck-playing gaffe ended up in the back of the net for the game-winning goal.
Smith, who is one of the best puck-handling goaltenders of all-time loves to get involved in the play and this time around it cost his team a postseason victory. It was 3-3 with six minutes left when Smith took matters into his own hands and it's unfortunate for Oilers fans as the team battled back from 2-0 as things didn't go as planned early on in Game 1. Things also didn't go to plan here as Smith would like this one back:
Mike Smith has now lost 10 consecutive playoff games, including all six he's played for the Oilers.
