Video: Wild Scrum Breaks Out During Game 1 of Battle of Alberta
Game 1 of the Battle of Alberta between the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames was the wildest game we've seen from the 2021-22 Stanley Cup Playoffs. From goals early and often, to goaltending changes, to wild rushes and huge hits, this game literally had it all.
One scrum in particular garnered a ton of attention as Flames forward Milan Lucic was somehow penalized for delivering a clean hit on Oilers star Connor McDavid. A huge scrum ensued after and it was an interesting development to see Evander Kane get involved.
This could be a foreshadow to a heavyweight tilt later in the series, take a look:
"We were told it was a boring series last time so I told the players yesterday we gotta score 7 to 10 goals today … that’s what we did.” - Darryl Sutter 😂 #StanleyCup | #Flames | @NHLFlames pic.twitter.com/4UCES4MVBn
