Blue Jackets Defenseman Officially Done In Columbus
Dean Kukan announced in late May that he would be heading home to Switzerland to play in the National League. Now, the 28-year-old defenseman has chosen his home, as he has signed a massive five-year deal with the ZSC Lions.
When looking at the fact that Kukan has signed a long-term deal overseas, we have likely seen the end of him in the NHL. In 153 career games with the Columbus Blue Jackets, he had five goals, 25 assists, and 30 points. His best season came this year, however, as he set new career-highs with three goals, eight assists, and 11 points.
Although Kukan is finished in Columbus and the NHL entirely, the 28-year-old is probably very excited for this next chapter. He has not only landed himself a long-term job but also will be playing back home. Congrats to him!
