Ducks Lock Up Undrafted Winger to Deal
The Anaheim Ducks have signed 22-year old undrafted left winger Pavol Regenda to a two-year deal worth $1.85 million. He will be a restricted free agent when the deal ends.
Regenda has spent most of his young career playing in Slovakia where he was born. He played in the Sweden J20 SuperElit league for two seasons and showed vast improvement between seasons. His past two seasons have been spent with Michalovce Dukla HC of the Slovakian Extraleague when he more than proved himself. He tallied 26 goals and 64 points in 93 games while bringing grit.
Regenda is known for scoring goals and finished the playoffs with five goals in six games before now taking his talents to an even higher level in North America. He should compete for a spot on the rebuilding Ducks next season.
Regenda was able to showcase his talents at the International level on Team Slovakia at the 2022 Olympics as well where he scored a goal and four points in seven games. The Ducks got themselves a good young prospect who has shown the ability to learn any league he is in and raise his game.
