Flyers Prospect Done In Philadelphia
According to Olivia Reiner, the Philadelphia Flyers are not expected to sign Connor McLennon to an entry-level contract. As a result of this, the 19-year-old will become an unrestricted free agent.
McLennon was selected with the 178th overall pick of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. He just put together the best season of his WHL career, as he had 43 goals and 81 points in 62 games with the Winnipeg Ice. Yet, apparently, that isn't enough for him to land a contract with the rebuilding Flyers. Weird, but okay.
Once McLennon becomes a UFA, don't be surprised to see plenty of teams pursue the youngster. Although he was playing with top prospects Matthew Savoie and Conor Geekie, there's nothing wrong with taking a chance on a youngster with that kind of offensive ability. Let's see where the kid ends up from here.
