Hurricanes Defenseman Heading To Finland

Taumo Reunanen is moving on from the Carolina Hurricanes, as the 24-year-old defenseman has signed a two-year contract with Lukko. 

Reunanen split this season between the Hartford Wolf Pack and Chicago Wolves of the AHL. In 48 games, he scored three goals and recorded 20 points. It's also important to note that he did not play a single playoff game with the Wolves, so perhaps him moving on from Carolina could have been predicted.

Reunanen is now heading back home to Finland to continue his professional career. Perhaps a return to North America could occur later down the road, but time will tell what happens on that front. Here's to hoping the youngster puts together a strong year for Lukko from here.
