Hurricanes Goalie Provides Update On Injury
While speaking with reporters, Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Antti Raanta provided an update on the injury he sustained during the team's Game 7 loss to the New York Rangers. The 33-year-old has an MCL sprain but is expected to be ready to go for the start of the 2022-23 season.
Seeing Raanta's season end in such a manner was simply devastating. The veteran netminder put together a very strong postseason in relief for Frederik Andersen. In 13 postseason games, he had a 6-5-0 record, 2.26 GAA, and .922 SV%. That's excellent work from a backup goaltender.
Alas, here's to hoping that Raanta can carry over that kind of play next season. Yet, for now, he of course will need to focus on his recovery first.
