Kings And Wild Complete Big Trade

We have our first notable trade of the 2022 NHL offseason, as Minnesota Wild forward Kevin Fiala has been moved to the Los Angeles Kings for their 2022 first-round pick (19th overall) and Brock Faber.

Fiala was one of the biggest names in the rumor mill. A trade from the Wild was inevitable, as the team did not have the cap space to re-sign Fiala to a new contract. Now, Fiala is set to be a King and a long-term contract extension is rumored to be on the way.

The Kings desperately needed another top-six winger in their lineup and now have just that with Fiala. In 82 games this season, he had 33 goals to go along with 85 points.

The Wild didn't make out too badly with this move, either. Besides the first-round pick, they also added a very good prospect in Faber. In 32 games with the University of Minnesota this campaign, he had two goals and 14 points.
