NHL Rumors: Capitals To Trade One Of Their Goalies
According to The Fourth Period, the Washington Capitals are looking to upgrade in net and could trade either Ilya Samsonov or Vitek Vanecek to help that come to fruition.
Goaltending has been an issue for the Capitals, so it makes sense that they are looking to switch things up at that position. With their core getting older, it could be the exact kind of move that helps them be viewed as contenders again.
It will be interesting to see if the Capitals elect to move either goaltender. In 44 games this season, Samsonov had a 23-12-5 record, 3.02 GAA, and .896 SV%. Vanecek, on the other hand, had a 20-12-6 record, 2.67 GAA, and .908 SV%.
