NHL Rumors: Coyotes Defenseman Finished In Arizona

Although Jakob Chychrun remained with the Arizona Coyotes past the trade deadline, don't expect him to stay. The 24-year-old defenseman is once again one of the first names on Frank Seravalli's most recent Trade Targets piece.

The primary reason why Chychrun stayed put with the Coyotes for the rest of the 2021-22 season was that he was injured right before the trade deadline. With that, Arizona did not feel that they received trade offers that were acceptable for the top-pairing defenseman. Yet, with the offseason just around the corner, they will have more time to work with.

Chychrun has made it known that he is not particularly excited about the idea of playing on a rebuilding team and wants to play playoff hockey. That isn't going to happen in Arizona any time soon, so at this juncture, it seems best for both parties to end this prolonged saga.
