NHL Rumors: Devils Linked To Star Forward
According to Pierre LeBrun, the New Jersey Devils are very likely to pursue Johnny Gaudreau if he hits the free-agent market this offseason.
It is well-known that the Devils are looking to add scoring wingers to play with Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier. It's hard to find a better one than Gaudreau in this free agency class, so, understandably, the star is on their radar.
Gaudreau, a Jersey native, just put together the best offensive season of his career. In 82 games, he set new career-highs with 40 goals, 75 assists, and 115 points. Adding that kind of offensive firepower to the Devils' lineup could make them look like a potential playoff team again. Alas, we will have to wait and see if they are the lucky team to sign "Johnny Hockey" this offseason.
