NHL Rumors: Devils Starting Contract Talks With Forward
According to Ryan Novozinky, the New Jersey Devils have started extension talks with Jesper Bratt.
Bratt is a player who the Devils should be looking to sign long-term, as he has emerged into an integral part of their core. The 23-year-old winger truly arrived this season, however, as he recorded an impressive 73 points in 76 games. Furthermore, he has been solid throughout his 307-game career, as he has 203 total points.
Bratt just continues to get better each season, and it's fair to say that the Devils stole him with the 162nd overall pick of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. Let's see what kind of contract the youngster gets, but man, he has earned himself a nice raise from his $2.75 million cap hit.
