NHL Rumors: Hurricanes Forward Wants To Stay Put
While speaking with reporters, Vincent Trocheck said that he hopes to re-sign with the Carolina Hurricanes.
Trocheck's contract is officially over, and he is set to become an unrestricted free agent if the Hurricanes do not extend him soon. He is viewed as one of the top pending UFA centers, so naturally, there will be a lot of interest in his services. Thus, if he decides to test the market, he will be getting a nice raise.
In 81 games this season, Trocheck had 20 goals to go along with 51 total points. This kind of production makes him a solid second-line center, but he is also noted for his strong defensive play, too. Thus, Carolina obviously wants to keep him around. Now that Trocheck has expressed interest in staying, would he be open to signing a hometown discount to stay?
