NHL Rumors: Lightning Hoping To Re-Sign 3 Players
While speaking with reporters, Tampa Bay Lightning GM Julien BriseBois said that he hopes to re-sign Ondrej Palat, Nick Paul, and Jan Rutta this offseason.
Palat has spent the entirety of his 10-year career with the Lightning, so it makes sense that they want to keep him around. In 77 games this season, he remained very effective, as he had 18 goals and 49 points in 77 games.
Paul turned out to be an excellent trade deadline acquisition for the Lightning. He offers a bit of everything, so it's easy to understand why Tampa hopes to re-sign him. In 21 games following the move, he scored five goals and recorded 14 points.
Rutta was once again a reliable defenseman for Tampa this season. In 76 games, he scored three goals and recorded 18 points. He also had a very solid plus-25 rating due to his defense-first style of play.
