NHL Rumors: Maple Leafs Defenseman To Be Traded
Throughout the 2021-22 season, Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Justin Holl was in the rumor mill. Although the 30-year-old never found a new home, that is expected to change this offseason, as Frank Seravalli once again has him on his most recent Trade Targets piece.
As Seravalli notes, Holl has been passed on the depth chart by former first-round pick Timothy Liljegren. With that, the Leafs certainly want to free up some cap space to make changes to their roster. Thus, with all of this, it would make sense for them to move on from Holl.
Although Holl received plenty of criticism this year, it was the best season of his career from an offensive standpoint. In 69 games, he set new career-highs with three goals, 20 assists, and 23 points. Due to this, it seems likely that a market would be there for the Minnesota native. Let's see if a move comes to fruition because of it.
