NHL Rumors: Oilers Linked To Blues Goaltender
Before the trade deadline passed, there were rumblings that the Edmonton Oilers were interested in St. Louis Blues goaltender Ville Husso. Now, with Husso set to become an unrestricted free agent, the Oilers are viewed as one of the teams who will be targeting the 27-year-old.
The Oilers have been heavily criticized for their unreliable goaltending, and it's an area that they need to address this offseason. Thus, the prospect of them pursuing Husso is entirely understandable. In fact, most would argue that it should be encouraged.
In 40 games this season with the Blues, Husso sported a 25-7-6 record, 2.56 GAA, and .919 SV%. It was truly a breakout year for the Finnish netminder, and it will be intriguing to see what he does for an encore in 2022-23. Let's see if he's an Oiler for it.
