Red Wings Sign Prospect
The Detroit Red Wings have signed Elmer Soderblom to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Soderblom was selected by Detroit with the 159th overall pick of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. The 6-foot-8, 250-pound winger just had a breakout year with Frolunda HC, as he set new career-highs with 21 goals, 12 assists, and 33 points. With this, it makes sense that the Red Wings are giving him his ELC now.
Soderblom's mix of size and scoring ability could make him become a future part of Detroit's roster. Although he will likely need some time with the Grand Rapids Griffins, the 20-year-old is a player to watch closely from here.
