Sabres and Stars To Complete Trade
He hasn't played since 2020, but Dallas Stars goaltender Ben Bishop is temporarily back on the NHL radar. ESPN Insider Kevin Weekes is reporting that the Buffalo Sabres will be acquiring Bishop's contract from the Stars in a Salary Cap move for both teams.

Bishop has been on long-term injury reserve since he was declared officially done playing due to chronic knee trouble last December. He hasn't suited up since the 2019-20 season. He still owns a $4.9M cap hit for next season, however, and an actual salary of $3.5M, and the Stars have apparently found a taker.
What or who will be heading back to Dallas is not yet known.
Bishop's cap hit will help the Sabres reach the salary floor, with only $42M committed to the cap for next season at this point.
Bishop, 35, is a three-time Vezina Trophy finalist, while his .921 career save percentage ranks him 5th all-time.
