3 Senators Finished In Ottawa
The Senators are making more changes to their roster, as Adam Gaudette, Victor Mete, and Michael McNiven were not given qualifying offers. Due to this, they each will be UFAs this week.
Gaudette's time as a Senator officially ends after playing just 50 games for the franchise. After being claimed off waivers from the Blackhawks, the Massachusetts native scored four goals and recorded 12 points. Although he didn't take the world by storm in Ottawa, some teams around the league could be willing to sign him to a league-minimum contract.
It was reported earlier this offseason that the Senators were unlikely to send Mete a qualifying offer, and now it's official. The 5-foot-9 defenseman only played in 37 games for Ottawa this campaign, where he had seven assists and a minus-19 rating.
McNiven was dealt to the Senators by the Canadiens before the deadline but did not play a single NHL game for the team. In two appearances with the Belleville Senators, he had an .878 SV% and 3.61 GAA.
