Klingberg was viewed as one of the top free agents in this year's class but failed to find a new home on the first day of the offseason. It had been reported that Klingberg was seeking a max-term deal, but after being on the market for over two weeks, he has now settled for a short-term contract.
Klingberg will be heading into the 2022-23 season with the goal of putting together a strong year. If he racks up the points in Anaheim, he should be able to get a deal with term next summer. Alas, let's see how he does with the Ducks from here.
