Avalanche Re-Sign Veteran Forward
The Avalanche have signed Andrew Cogliano to a one-year, $1.25 million contract extension.
Cogliano turned out to be an excellent veteran presence for the Avalanche during their playoff run. Colorado added him before the deadline passed in a quiet trade with the Sharks. Yet, his Avalanche teammates discussed Cogliano's amazing leadership during the playoffs, so it isn't too surprising that they have elected to re-sign him.
A 1,140-game veteran, Cogliano has had stints with the Oilers, Ducks, Stars, Sharks, and of course Avalanche. During that span, he has scored 174 goals, 252 assists, and 426 points. It will be intriguing to see how he builds on these career stats with the Avalanche in 2022-23.
