Blue Jackets Extend Star Forward
The Columbus Blue Jackets and forward Patrik Laine have agreed to terms on a four-year, $34.8 million contract worth $8.7 million annually, per Aaron Portzline.

Laine is coming off a very strong season, averaging a point per game, where he scored 26 goals and 30 assists in 56 games.
Since joining the Blue Jackets, the twenty-four-year-old has played 101 games and recorded 77 total points.
For his NHL career, Laine has played 407 games, scoring 176 goals and 151 assists for 327 total points.
The Blue Jackets have now locked up Johnny Gaudreau and Patrik Laine and the team's cap space sits at $-2,345,833
