Blues Re-Sign Defenseman

The Blues have re-signed Niko Mikkola to a one-year, $1.9 million contract. 

Mikkola had himself a year to remember in 2021-22, as he set new career-highs with three goals, 10 assists, and 13 points in 54 games. With that, he was quite active in the physical side of the game, as his 55 penalty minutes and 109 hits show perfectly.

Heading into the 2022-23 season, we should see Mikkola utilized more frequently from here. The 26-year-old showed that he is an NHL-caliber defenseman and thehas  potential to be a solid shutdown defenseman for many more seasons.
