The Devils acquire forward Erik Haula in return, the deal is a one for one.
Zacha, the Devils' sixth overall pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, posted 36 points over 70 games this past season for New Jersey. For his career, Zacha has 179 total points in 386 games, all with the Devils.
The twenty-five year old is a restricted free agent, so he's due for a new contract.
Erik Haula is coming off a strong season in Boston, scoring 18 goals and 26 assists in 78 games. In seven playoff games, the thirty-one year old scored one goal and two assists.
Haula has one year left on his contract at $2.37 million. The Devils will likely use him as their third line center this upcoming season.
