Bruins Sign Prospect
The Bruins have signed Ryan Mast to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Mast was selected by the Bruins with the 181st overall pick of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. The 6-foot-5 defenseman just had a strong season with the Sarnia Sting, as he had nine goals and 31 points in 59 games. This was a notable increase in production, too. In 58 games with the Sting the year before, he had just 10 points. Thus, he is heading in the right direction.
If Mast continues to progress this well, he could end up finding his way in the Bruins' top six in a few years. After Charlie McAvoy and Brandon Carlo, the Bruins' right side is rather weak. Maybe he could even make a push as soon as this training camp.
