Capitals Re-Sign Veteran Forward
The Capitals have re-signed Marcus Johansson to a one-year, $1.1 million contract.
Johansson was acquired by the Capitals at the trade deadline. Overall, he ended up being a solid bottom-six forward for Washington during their reunion. As a result of this, he has earned the opportunity to play another year in DC.
Johansson had nine goals and 29 points in 69 games between the Kraken and Capitals last season. A 753-game veteran, the 31-year-old has 144 goals, 263 assists, and 407 points over the course of his career. The Capitals will benefit from having his versatility and experience around for another year.
