Carolina Hurricanes Re-Sign Defenseman
The Carolina Hurricanes have re-signed Ethan Bear to a one-year, $2.2 million contract.
Earlier this offseason, the Hurricanes gave Bear permission to speak with other clubs. Yet, at this juncture, nothing has come out of that. Heading into the 2022-23 season, it appears that he will remain in Carolina. It will be a big year for the 25-year-old defenseman, as he will be aiming to get back into Carolina's top six and bounce back from a rough 2021-22 campaign.
In 58 games this past season, Bear had five goals to go along with 14 points. He more notably did not appear in a single playoff game for the Hurricanes and was healthy scratched for each of them. It will be interesting to see if he can rebound from here.
